To All Presenters:

Ken Robinson says schools kill creativity.

THE POINT: I think he's right. Now what do we do about it?

Discovery Health recently did a show on "Radical Parenting" and one of the concepts was "radical unschooling." Since then, unschooling has become quite a buzzword, being picked up by the morning news shows, twitter, and the like. The concept is children direct their own learning... and never go to school. It is not like traditional homeschooling where parents teach at home following a curriculum. There is no curriculm, and instead children are encouraged to explore what is interesting to them, when it is interesting to them. Intriguing concept, but what 13 year old is like, "Hmmm.... what's this algebra thing everyone is talking about?"

Just had $.02 lying around that I needed to deposit somewhere.
